26. Words are Enough
Alex-sama’s hand touched my shoulder. His big, warm, hand was holding me firmly.
I was cornered by the wall while His Highness’ beautiful face was right beside mine.
Finally… we’re going to kiss…
I looked at Alex-sama’s lips and closed my eyes tightly.
Is this truly alright…?
No. We were merely proving our love to Elena.
At the same time, developing our own relationship might also be possible…
…Surely, there was nothing wrong with that.
I trembled as I waited for the next moment.
However, nothing happened.
Instead, I felt the gentle caress of his large palm on my head.
I slowly opened my eyes.
Alex-sama was staring at me with a gentle expression.
“Alisa, you seem scared.”
I was actually thrilled. I tried to shake my head—but then realized that it was exactly as Alex-sama said.
I was glad that our relationship was developing, but at the same time I might be rushing things.
“I was happy when Alisa told me I could kiss you. Still, I don’t think you need to overdo it, not to mention…”
“…What is it?”
“To be honest, I wasn’t ready, either.”
Alex-sama blushed while brushing his golden hair.
I felt warm and chuckled.
I felt sorry that I couldn’t kiss Alex-sama, but I was very happy to learn that he was taking good care of me.
Alex-sama spoke while looking out of the window—probably due to embarrassment.
“Besides, kissing Alisa to get Elena to persuade Mikhail… It’s kind of weird. It’s as if I’m taking advantage of you. This is an important moment I want to save for its appropriate time. Don’t you agree?”
“That’s—! No, I should’ve thought about that…”
I felt embarrassed. Alex-sama smiled, and stroked my hair once again.
His hand felt very soft and warm.
To be able to feel such warmth… I was already content.
But… the problem with Elena still remained.
His Highness gently scooped my hair with his fingertips and whispered.
“If you think about it, it’s easy to prove to Elena that I love you.”
“I, is that so?”
“I can say it with words in front of Elena.”
To convey it in words, would Alex-sama declare, “I love Alisa!” or something like that?
I wondered if Elena would be convinced by that.
Alex-sama smiled as I pondered that.
“Elena is surely worried about her dear sister. If I were in her position, I’d understand how she feels. Her sister is struggling in the frontier, trying to keep up with the helpless prince who lost his throne.”
“I have never thought of Alex-sama as being helpless, and I also have never felt that I was having a difficult time in the frontier. After all, I’m… happy to be here.”
“Thank you. I’m glad Alisa said that. Therefore, I’ll have to reassure my fiancée’s sister about how much I care about Alisa… If I were to speak earnestly, she’ll surely be convinced.”
Alex-sama’s words made me happy. I smiled—then noticed something serious.
In other words, in front of Elena, Alex-sama would gush about how much he loved me.
…That’d be more embarrassing than kissing.
“Let’s go see Elena!”
Alex-sama was enthusiastic.
Even though nothing had yet begun, I was already red from embarrassment.
…I hoped that it’d go well.
