The Returnee Noble Lady Attacks His Majesty the Dragon Emperor Translation

273.2: The Battle Maiden Wants to Study Abroad (36)

Hades could be heard snorting. Jill firmly planted down her feet and yelled back.

“Do you want to be stepped on again, you stupid husband!? I’ll never divorce you, no matter what!”

“—There’s a hidden passage below the antechamber you had everyone escape into. It’s already been cleaned up.”

She frowned and raised her gaze, but the sparks of magic flying around made seeing Hades’ expression difficult.

“The passage connects all the way to the school building. Whether you barricade yourselves inside or hide is up to you. I’ll look into why the dragon’s have been acting strange. After all, even I’d have trouble getting out of bed if all the students were killed. So that’s why, how about you give it your all to protect them instead of me?”

“Now you’re saying that? Seriously, you’re not cute at all when you’re jealous.”

“Didn’t you know? I’m actually a surprisingly capable man.”

Just as Jill felt the pressure ease from her hands, a shockwave of magic hit.

“You don’t have to worry about me, Jill-sensei.”

Hades turned and left in the opposite direction from where Jill had been sent flying. By the time she reoriented herself in midair and landed, she was alone. The enemy had likely retreated of their own accord to avoid being caught in Hades’ attack.

It was a temporary relief, but Jill felt neither happy nor reassured.

“Jill-sensei! Thank goodness, what the hell was that guy…?”

“Were you injured anywhere!? Is everything alright!?”

“…yeah, I’m fine. We should retreat while we still can…”

“Sensei? What’s wrong, you’re acting different than usual…”

“…apparently, there’s a hidden passage that leads to the school building below that room. Find it.”

The students exchanged glances. Noin entered immediately after, and with everyone searching the floor, they quickly found it, a hidden door that responded to magic.

At the bottom of the stairs that lead underground were some soldiers, tied up and unconscious.

“Wh-what is all this? These guys, they’re comrades with the ones from earlier, right? Did they have a falling out?”

“This wasn’t by Jill-sensei, right? Something’s been off since earlier…”

Jill gave Lutiya’s suspicious gaze a powerless smile.

“…You’re an honest and good kid, Lutiya…”

Haa?  The hell? In what way do you see me as an honest and good kid?”

“The truly twisted ones are those who act like they’re honest and good. They will act however they please, and then they will just adjust the results to suit themselves and laugh triumphantly…!”

Jill felt like hitting Hades at the memory. For now, however, she had no choice but to follow his lead.

“Everyone, we’re moving to the school building while we have the chance! Whatever we do, we need to secure a position first.”

“But sensei, what about being pursued or ambushed up ahead…?”

“No, there won’t be any. And even if there are, I’ll be able to handle it.”

Let’s see how well this “capable man” does. Jill thought to herself as she stepped forward. If he doesn’t do well, I’ll step on him with all my might again!
