21. A Hero Consisting Solely of Talent
I wasnât a combat expert.
I only had a base understanding about the standard of strength.
However, there was something I could say for sure.
I really didnât want to acknowledge it because it would only fuel negative thoughts…
âTch.â Said Grave.
âSo, you somehow managed to resist my blow!â Said Allen.
Allen was a formidable opponent.
He was the hero, after all.
He was the man chosen by the Holy Sword Zephyr.
To become the chosen one, one had to have a special blessing called, âThe Blessing of the Hero.â
From the moment Allen was born, it was already decided that he was the âHero.â
He was a special being.
âYour strength, speed, and reflexes are all commendable, but!â
â…â
âYouâre still below me.â
Grave received Allenâs blow with his sword.
Because he was unable to parry it, he was blown backward.
Grave quickly restored his stance, turned around, shook his head, and fought back.
âDo you think I canât grasp your movements?â Said Allen.
âYou talk too much. Careful or you might bite your tongue.â Said Grave.
âThanks for the concern.â Said Allen.
The winner and the loser were already apparent.
Surprised voices could be heard from the people of the city watching the duel.
âA, am I seeing things? That Grave is being pushed back!â
âWell, the opponent is a hero. That sort of outcome might be inevitable.â
âWhat do we do? Maybe we should call Master Rigard…â
Most likely, everyone in the city knew of Graveâs strength better than me.
Grave, who could fight evenly with the two strongest of the city, was struggling against the hero.
No wonder people were shocked.
As for me, it didnât come off as very surprising.
The Holy Sword Zephyr had the ability to maximize the potential of its wielder.
By just possessing that sword, the wielder could effortlessly obtain great power.
For a gifted man such as Allen, the effect was even more apparent.
Grave received yet another one of Allenâs heavy blow and repelled it with a great amount of strength, creating a distance between them.
âThat makes ten times.â
Towards Allenâs words, Grave frowned.
âYou must be wondering what Iâm talking about. Fine, itâs the number of times youâve received my blow.â Explained Allen.
âWhat about it?â Said Grave.
âHaha! Iâm praising you, you know. Somehow, you were able to receive my blows ten times! However, arenât your arms about to reach their limit?â
Allen grinned and pointed to Graveâs arm.
Grave only showed a fearless expression and didnât answer.
âYou donât have to pretend. Your parry is great, but still imperfect. The impact of every blow you deflected was transmitted to your arm… the damage should be accumulating. Soon, you wonât be able to move your arm. Or maybe, that sword will be the first to fall.â
âWhat did you say?â
âGeez, let me explainâIâm wielding the holy sword, while youâre just a nobody with a random, dull, sword. It can be considered a miracle that sword hasnât broke yet.â
âA dull sword, you say…â
Grave laughed dauntlessly.
âIf mine is a dull sword, then yours is scrap metal!â
âIt seems that you still didnât know your position.â
âRight back at you.â
âCheeky bastard! I will make sure youâll never be able to talk to me that way again!â
Allen swung his holy sword.
Angered by Graveâs provocation, he was filled with a desire to kill.
His malicious intent was apparentâeven to me, a bystander.
âGrave!â
âThis is the end!â
KakkiâPakki!
A blade snapping rang out.
Unable to withstand the impact, part of the blade chippedâ
âNo, way…â
âbut it wasnât Graveâs sword.
âSeems like youâre the one who isnât aware of his position.â
âGrave!â From the bottom of my heart, I was relieved.
What broke was none other than Allenâs Holy Sword Zephyr.
Surprised, he leaped back in a hurry to distance himself.
Grave didnât give chase.
While keeping his distance, Grave explained to the appalled Allen.
âYouâre certainly strong. I wonât deny itâboth your strength and reflexes are superior to mine. Your weapon is also a holy sword, as such, it canât be weak. However? My technique is better.â
âWhat are you talking about…â
âDid you not notice? I was always aiming for the same spot whenever I received or attacked your sword.â
âW, what?â
I see.
That part of Allenâs sword broke because Grave focused on it.
I was familiar with the strength of Holy Sword Zephyr.
Because it was a holy sword, it was dozens of times more durable than a normal sword.
Regardless, that didnât make it invincible.
Receiving relentless damage and impacts, the holy sword finally reached its limit.
âThatâs just impossible…â
âYour movements are fast, but it follows the same pattern. It isnât trained. Youâre just using that sword and your talent to cover for your lack of training. It seems that somehow, youâve managed to not be defeated until now, but Iâm different. Iâm unlike your previous enemies.â
Grave readjusted his sword and charged towards Allen.
Taken aback the direct onslaught, Allen focused on defended himself.
âYour speed, has increasedâ!?â
âFast, isnât it? Thatâs because I was holding back the entire time. Thatâs all it took for you to lower your guard.â
âYou bastard!â
âAlright, let me tell you another reason why were able to remain standing until now!â
After closing the distance, Grave twisted his sword and struck Allenâs holy sword from below. The holy sword was thrown upwards.
Grave slashed at Allenâs defenseless torso.
âGohoâ!â
Allenâs armor was torn into pieces and fell to the ground.
As he was, Allen fell onto his butt.
âM, my armor!â
âYouâre actually surprised by that? Until now, youâve been protected by Lilianaâs armor.â
Grave pointed the tip of his sword at Allen.
âDo you understand? It was because she was there that you, a half-hearted man who doesnât train, were able to claim victory!â
âGrave…â
Surely, Grave fought to tell me that.
***T/N: THE TITLE IS WRONG!!! ALIEN DOESN’T SOLELY CONSIST OF TALENT, BUT GAZILLION STDs IMAGINABLE, ALSO!!!!

I am a bit further annoyed that the FL has to be rescued by the ML, even if she made his sword đ It’s not like she stood up to the scumbag first and then the ML stepped in to back her up, the ML literally took over the whole show…
Ok but Allen is right, hitting the same spot of the sword in a fight more than 10 times would be impossible.
bahaha i love ur tn thx for the update!
One hope one of those gazillion STDs is the exploding genitalia STD from evil intergalactic empire
The fact that they had time to talk while fighting at all is a sign that this wasn’t a serious fight from the start.
Medieval STDs transmitter deflected… does this make Grave a… krhm… certain type of contraception ??
Lmao where did that with the STDs come from, that’s so random ??? but… not all that unlikely ???
Thank you~
Looks like the Kingdom loses prestige when its Hero is beaten. But the way the author writes, the citizens don’t seem to care if that gets in the way of the MC.
If I’m reading this comment right, I think the reason for that’s bc the city they’re in now is independently governed
