Avril’s eyes widened at the sight that awaited her. Even though they booked their tickets at the last minute, a vacant suite was still available.

From the spacious living room, bedroom, bathroom, and balcony where Avril was currently standing, the boundless sea could be seen. They hadn’t even left the port yet! How exciting would it be once they set sail?

…No, that’s not it. I’m here to work!

Avril shook her head, but Dylan spoke to her.

“When I informed Lawrence about the infiltration, he threw his hand around me, saying that would be like our honeymoon. Though of course, he must’ve taken many precautions to keep us from being identified.”

“Lord Dylan didn’t say anything about work, either. No wonder we have such a wonderful suite!”

“…When you emphasized that it was a ‘honeymoon’ four times, I just…”

Avril smiled, feeling tickled at Dylan’s awkward stammering.

“Thank you, Lord Dylan! I’m sure I’ll enjoy it! I’ll think of it as a real honeymoon!”

“As we discussed in advance, when it comes to the actual investigation, other personnel will be in charge of it. Avril and Grace should go to places frequented by women. Keep an eye on the cafes and salons, see if Teresa will show up. Refrain from doing anything dangerous.”

“All right, Lord Dylan!”

Avril replied cheerfully, but for some reason Dylan sighed. When she tilted her head, wondering if Dylan was worried about something, Dylan gave her a stern look.

“Listen, Avril. While catching Teresa is important, your safety always comes first.”

“Yes, I understand very well!”

Avril replied cheerfully, but Dylan appeared even more anxious. He was supposed to be staying in a nearby room, yet there he was, standing beside her on the balcony. He reminded her once again.

“…When we return to the capital, our wedding will take place as planned. Hence why, your safety is of utmost priority. Therefore, please don’t push yourself too hard on the investigation and enjoy this cruise.”

In other words, while Dylan had brought her with him, he didn’t want her to be deeply involved with the investigation.

…As expected, Lord Dylan allowed me to board the Victoria because I made a fuss about it being our honeymoon.

“I enjoy working alongside Lord Dylan.”

“…It’s just unnecessary work.”

Avril blinked at his self-deprecating reply. Then, she recalled the time when Lawrence and Alexandra came to the main residence of the Duke of Lancester.

That day, Dylan only acted depressed with Lawrence.

As they stared at each other, Dylan wrapped his arm around Avril’s back. They hugged and she buried her face in his chest. The sea breeze, mixed with Dylan’s usual cologne, made her feel refreshed.

…She had thought that she had grown accustomed to being officially engaged, yet now her heart was beating rapidly.

“I-is my face red…?”

“?”

“I don’t know who I should imitate for playing the role of a married couple on their honeymoon.”

Depending on the situation, Avril would model her bad girl image after Corinna or Alexandra, but nothing came to mind when it came to being a happy newlywed.

Avril had only ever known about happy families through stories. As a side note, she could somewhat tell that the atmosphere between Lawrence and Alexandra wasn’t normal.

When she looked up at Dylan with doubt, he paused for a moment and smiled gently.

“…It’s all right. As long as Avril behaves as usual, it’ll work out. Naturally, even. So, it’s okay.”

“I see.”

“Then, shall we continue with our honeymoon?”

All right—eh, wait…

Dylan took Avril’s hand, placing a kiss on her fingertips. Almost instantly, her thoughts flew to the wedding again and her heart raced.
