100: It Seems to be a Misunderstanding
“Lady Teresa!?”
The salon was on the second floor. When Avril and the others hurried to look out the window, they discovered a pile of hay just below. Using that as a cushion, Teresa successfully bouncing off it and landing on the ground. Then, to make it easier to move, Teresa tied up the hem of her dress and started running.
“Chase Teresa Pannella!”
“—U-understood!”
“No, not you, Avril.”
At Dylan’s command, Avril turned for the window, only to be stopped by him. Dylan held her tight, and Avril’s eyes widened in shock.
“Uhm, Lord Dylan, what are you doing?”
“Forgive me. I thought you were about to jump.”
Even Avril knew that was going too far.
I feel like I’m being treated like a child…?
Just that morning, he said that he didn’t see her as a child, but she wondered about that. As she felt somewhat uneasy, she spotted some servants chasing after Teresa in the garden.

Teresa ran straight towards for wall that separated the premises, getting farther and farther away.

“Will they be able to catch up with Lady Teresa?”
“Even if she does escape, there’s be nowhere for her to hide in this town.”
“…Certainly, that’s true in some parts of the town.”
The town, which was part of the Duchy of Lancester, was located below the main residence. If Dylan made the call, Teresa would be weeded out in an instant.
But the city has a port, and there are many ships.
Avril was contemplating Teresa’s escape when she heard an astonished gasp.

Dylan casually released her. If anything, that act only gave the servants the opposite impression and now they believed such exchanges happened on a daily basis between the two. They were swooning.
“I see, our master seems to be dancing on the palm of Lady Avril’s hand.”
“I can see why.”
Avril paused and then froze.
Do I need to pretend to be a bad girl even now…? But the former duke isn’t here…
When she looked up at Dylan, he gave her a resigned smile.
“You can think whatever you want. However, I fully support her.”
““…!!””
That single line from Dylan was enough to convince all the servants in the room. They seemed excited for some reason.
“Of course. Avril, who is good at laundry, taming the beast, and making our master laugh in such a gentle manner can’t be a villainess!”
“…Jesenia, unfortunately, I’m just an ordinary person… I’m sorry, but I want to talk to you about ‘Avril the Villainess’ next time.”
I thought if the servants saw Lord Dylan had a penchant for evil women, they’d become more loyal, but that seems to have been a misunderstanding on my part.
Avril sighed in relief while reflecting on herself. Jesenia then asked with concern.
“…Ordinary? You definitely aren’t, well, uh, leaving that aside, has Lady Avril met the grand master?”
“Yes. I exchanged greetings with him once.”

When Avril smiled, Jesenia and the others stared at her curiously. Unbeknownst to them, in the main residence, Avril was being shunned. The servants would give her strange looks while the former duke felt disdain for her. In fact, after their first meeting, he never greeted her again.
