Extra 29: The 800-year-old Villainess had fun Every Day (3)
I had never experienced youth.
I was originally an orphan, and after my aptitude for magic was discovered, I was forced to train every day. I was adopted without love, and after that, I studied magic wholeheartedly. However, my fiancé falsely accused me and sealed me away for 800 years.
So, I kind of longed for it.
To have someone to hang out with after school. A normal student life.
“Thank you for inviting me…”
Tea party with friends!!
I loved sweets. Lumiere, who was with the prince, also seemed to like sweets. I was biased about that. I was sure we’d have a great time!
So, the day after I possessed Lelouch, I invited Lumiere to join me after school.
At the cafeteria, I explained the situation to her and prepared a special seat for her. Lelouche didn’t seem to be short on money, and was able to fill the table with jewel-like sweets.
However, Lumiere’s hands were shaking as she held the teacup.
Right, Lelouche’s rank was higher than hers.
Now, how to ease the tension? I guess I had no choice but to bring up that topic. All girls liked love talk!
“So… what do you like about that prince?”
“Pfft!”
Oh no! She spat out her tea!
Still, little missteps are an opportunity to gauge a person’s true nature, so I paid it no heed and continued the conversation while wiping my mouth.
“He looks like the ultimate prince, so he’s not bad. But… to be honest, doesn’t he seem a little foolish? He doesn’t seem to be particularly good at sports. Surely, there are better men out there—”
“Lord Sazanjill is a very kind person!”
Lumiere put down her cup and raised her voice, her scream reverberating around us.
Her heartbreaking plea was quite passionate, but I couldn’t help but be puzzled.
This was a man who’d bring another woman to visit his fiancée?
I couldn’t deny the possibilities that common sense and values here were different from my world… My doubts must’ve been apparent because Lumiere took my hands and told me desperately.
“He’s a very serious person—and above all, he really loves you!”
…I knew it, this girl is very nice.
At the very least, she was worried that the prince and Lelouch would have a falling out if things continued as they were. So, she was desperately trying to mediate between them. What amazing friendship. I really loved this kind of thing!
Hence why, I couldn’t help but smile upon hearing that.
“Is it okay to tell a love rival something like that?”
“I don’t think I have a chance with Lord Sazanjill. He’s always saying ‘Lelouche’ this and ‘Lelouche’ that whenever something happens. Although this is the first time we’ve had a proper conversation, I couldn’t think of Lady Lelouche as a stranger.”
Lumiere smiled back.
I naturally voiced out my proposal.
“Won’t you be friends with me?”
“Eh?” Lumiere asked timidly, wide-eyed.
“You… don’t find me annoying…?”
“Are you trying to replace me as the crown princess?”
“No way, no way, no way!”
The way she panicked as she denied it was so adorable.
I’d never really been in love, but I thought it was only natural that a girl as cute as her would snatch the prince away.
“Well, even if you don’t, I’m still your love rival. There’s nothing wrong with getting closer to me to find up what I’m up to, right?”
When I said that maliciously, Lumiere laughed happily.
“I didn’t know Lady Lelouche is such a friendly person!”
…Come to think of it, I’d abandoned my ladylike speech entirely.
Well, I wasn’t the real Lelouche, anyway. But it wouldn’t hurt to make a friend or two without her knowing. Besides, Lumiere was such a good girl!
From there, we chatted more and more.
We spoke about Prince Sazanjill, and I heard about how they met.
It all started when she picked up something the prince had lost. Lumiere ended up fixing it, and during the conversation, he found out that other classmates were bullying her. Thus, the prince used his status as a shield to protect her.
“In that case, shouldn’t you have told the prince directly?”
“That’d be like telling the teacher. I was afraid I’d receive backlash.”
“I see.”
Well, from now on, I’d be able to help Lumiere out even if she was in trouble!
Just wait, you bully! The Incorrigible Villainess will kick your ass!
I was enthusiastic. As the conversation progressed, we made promises like, “Let’s eat donuts sometime.”
Would Lelouche be surprised when she returned? Even so, I hoped she could enjoy her remaining days.
Just as I was about to go home with Lumiere…
“Lelouche.”
A refreshing boy with silver hair tapped me on the shoulder.
He was quite tantalizing for his age, but his familiarity with women made him seem like a player. Lumiere hid behind me.
…Is he a bad person?
“Who might you be?”
I asked, fully cautious and using proper, lady-like speech.
“What a shock… Did you even forget your brother-in-law’s name after tumbling down the stairs?”
He knelt down and pressed his lips against my hand.
“I’m Zafield Louis Lapisenta. I’m eternally in your care, my goddess.”
