The Despised Lady Wishes to be Loved Translation

Extra 8.2: The Teachers’ Failure

The grand hall that served as the venue for the dance party was located on the academy premises. At the same time, it could be seen from the window of the vice principal’s office, which was located on the top floor of the faculty building.

They saw a man and a woman exiting the building where said the party was taking place.

“…Ms. Lithia Album.”

They couldn’t even make out their faces from that distance, however, her long, pure white hair sparkled in the moonlight, standing out even in the darkness. They wouldn’t find another female student with the same color in the whole academy.

“…No, she’s Mrs. Wales now.”

The wind magic teacher said in an almost inaudible voice.

Lithia Wales, a mere viscount’s daughter.

The man leaned close to her, their shadows had almost became one. However, that man wasn’t the first prince of the country who had been harboring a deep love for her, but the commoner.

“Even though… She was given the opportunity to annul her marriage… and be with His Highness, she chose to be with that commoner until the end…”

“N-no way!? That’s impossible—!”

The love story between the Fairy Princess and her prince was supposed to reach its grand finale that night. Once the two realized their feelings for each other, all of the Fairy Princess’ past hardships would turn into sweet and bitter memories of love.

“…What have we done?”

Not only had they subject her to spartan supplementary lessons, they also didn’t bat an eye at the suffering she endured from bullying. To make matters worse, they made it difficult for her to pass her exams. All that time, they thought they were helping her to find love with the future king, instead of harassing her.

Still, she did not choose the prince.

Now that the basic premise where the two loved each other had collapsed, the pride that the teachers at the Forrent Magic Academy held in their hearts as the Cupids of love crumbled like a sandcastle.

◆◆◆

“Are you fine with leaving the party so early?”

“It’s fine, we have to wake up early tomorrow. Besides, I just wanted to dance with Geo.”

Geo slowly walked out of the party venue while supporting Lithia who was wearing shoes with thinner heels than usual.

As he couldn’t afford to trip and fall, Geo focused on the road ahead instead of the person beside him, feeling sorry for her.

“Ah.”

“What’s the matter?”

Then, he couldn’t help but let out a gasp as he saw the familiar sight.

Back then, when he was prohibited from participating in the party, he had also walked along that path with the spacious venue at his back.

It’s just like that time.

“I recalled the first time I met Lithia. I met Lithia after following this path.”

He could still remember it vividly.

After being turned away at the door due to the dress code, Geo gave up and went home, but a girl had appeared in front of him. From a distance, she sparkled brightly akin to a chandelier.

“At that time, I took your hand and led you away.”

“…You were trying to show me the pond in the courtyard. You said that I would be able to see my reflection in it.”

“Ah, I thought you had never seen your own reflection. Now that I think about it, I guess that was rude of me, forgive me.”

—He dragged a girl away on their first meeting. That was really suspicious of him.

“No, it’s okay. Although I was surprised, I’ve been happy since then. When you take my hand, I feel like I can go to a brighter place.”

“Lithia…”

“So please continue to take me wherever you go.”

“Of course!”

Lithia looked up at Geo while nuzzling her cheek against his shoulder. Staring back into her golden eyes, Geo nodded without missing a beat.

“But with those shoes, taking you anywhere is a bit dangerous. Please wait a moment.”

“Eh?”

He released her and then wrapped an arm around her back before placing the other under her knees.

Putting strength in his waist, he lifted Lithia up with both of his arms. It was the so-called princess carry.

That day, Lithia wore white stilettos that matched her lace white dress. When they danced on the balcony, Geo recalled that she tripped once and concluded she was having trouble maintaining her balance. Therefore, he concluded that allowing her to continue walking at such a quick pace was too dangerous.

“In this case, I’ll just take you with me like this. With this, even if Lithia has to return to the moon, I can go back with her.”

“Geo, you are so—!”

While laughing happily, Lithia circled her arms around Geo’s neck.

She embraced him tightly, and Geo renewed his determination not to let her be taken to the moon after all.
