Upon returning to Hades’ guest room, Jill lost it.

“What is the meaning of this, Your Majesty!?”

“What?”

Leaving Natalie in the hands of Geraldo, Hades took off his indoor shoes.

“You said that the engagement between Princess Natalie and Prince Geraldo would take place after peace is established. Why are you giving Princess Natalie to Kratos now?”

After questioning Zeke, Jill gathered that Natalie secretly entered the kingdom after Jill and the others on Hades’ instructions.

Jill almost went crazy when she heard that to lay low, the princess only brought a few escorts.

Isn’t this a repeat of when Natalie was sent in under Georg’s command!?

The situation was different because in the original timeline, Natalie went missing after she left the Saber territory. However, the question remained—

—Who targeted Natalie and why?

How could they be sure that the same thing wouldn’t happen this time?

Even though she knew that Hades was ignorant to all of that, Jill was furious.

“The procedure is a mess! We’re in the dark! We’re not even prepared! Why would you go out of your way to do something that would incite such backlash?”

“‘Me’?”

With a small rebuttal, Hades listlessly sat down on the bed.

“As long as peace is achieved, it doesn’t matter whether it comes early or late. There won’t be any formal discussion. She’s just here to introduce herself.”

“But what if something happens!?”

“What do you mean? As in, we can’t get engaged because Prince Geraldo and your family are against it?”

“I-I don’t think that’s possible after coming this far…”

“Then it’s fine. There’s no problem. If something happens to Natalie, then it’s war.”

Jill clenched her fist as Hades scoffed.

She instructed Zeke to escort Natalie, so he wasn’t present. Camila hadn’t returned yet, so it was just the two of them.

I have to calm down.

“…I didn’t hear a single thing about Her Highness Natalie.”

“Because nobody knows what will happen.”

“You are lying! You didn’t tell me on purpose. I’m sure His Highness Vissel, His Highness Listeard, and His Highness Elynsia knew as well!”

When Hades purposefully dodged the question, her emotions got the better of her.

“Please explain. Why didn’t you tell me anything?”

“On the contrary, I’d like to ask you something. Why are you so against it?”

Jill stuttered at his calm reply. There was no way she could just say that Natalie would likely be kidnapped when peace was at stake.

Misunderstanding her silent, Hades scowled.

“Do you despise the idea of Prince Geraldo getting married that much?”

“Huuh!? Where did that come from? Don’t misunderstand—”

“—Since he’s your first love, things might get complicated.”

She was at a loss for words. But when Hades snorted, Jill snapped.

“Is it because we spoke earlier!?”

“Then, what did you talk about with Prince Geraldo?”

“I was just asking him about the incident from 300 years ago!”

After she blurted that out, she realized that it might be a bad idea, but it was already too late.

With a gaze below freezing, Hades spat at her.

“Someone is being prepared, it seems.”

“…T-that’s because, I don’t want to meet the same fate…”

“By taking a stroll with your first love, the prince.”

“Are you that jealous!? You’re so uncute!”

“I don’t remember ever being a particularly cute guy. I’m an adult. I’m taking it in stride.”

The way he suddenly scoffed was very cheeky and not cute. She wanted to punch him in the guts right now. Twitching, she spoke to him as calmly as she could.

“…How surprising. The day has arrived when His Majesty claims that he’s an adult.”

“I’m growing up.”

“In that case, you’re growing in a repulsive direction!”

“What? Did you think that I was going to cry and beg for you not to leave? When you are the cheater?”

“I’m not cheating on you! For whose sake do you think I’m doing this!?”

“I never asked for your help.”

Hades curtly dismissed her and crawled into bed.

“Just go to the dinner party without me.”

Her blood was boiling.

“Oh, I will! Your Majesty is such an idiot! You can stay here!”

When she slammed the door shut behind her with all her might, she heard a creaking sound, but her anger didn’t subside.

His Majesty is always like that! Always trying to test me…!

At times like that, chomping down on meat was the best cure.

The dinner party without Hades would surely be a lot of fun.
