At Reines-hime’s cry, her soldiers begin to move.

No…… she most likely can see us. There must be an opening to watch from, I just can’t tell from here. The 9 [walls made of stone] are tightly assembled, overlapped to create a small, firm, box. They’re more like castle walls than a formation.

「However…… such an action won’t allow them any method to attack. Is their goal to run out the time limit……?」

The other side certainly said [defensive battle]. If so, they’ll be able to achieve victory by protecting their flag.

「No…… I shouldn’t be so naïve. They must have some sort of plan.」

「Those walls, they have the ability to move, but their movements seem to be sluggish.」

Commanding officer Dorus responds to the princess.

「In this situation, that sole girl is the only one able come forth and take the general’s flag. Her strategy is likely one where she targets Rain-sama.」

Reines Kittle spontaneously claps her hands. She too is the daughter of an aristocrat from a turbulent era and has at the very least read up on history. She is also knowledgeable about past battles and has read accounts describing tactics similar to the one before her.

If I’m not mistaken, in this situation, the enemy will draw us to the castle gate on one side and then strike from the opposite gate. They could also choose to escape. This is a truly common and well-used stratagem.

「I believe this should be viewed more along the lines of siege training than a [mock battle] between infantry.」

Reines Kittle laughs.

Not a single soldier of hers has fallen, but they’ve all been clustered together. As the walls pressed upon them from all directions, they were forced into a narrow space and imprisoned.

「My- my apologies…… but, these walls move and throw off the soldiers trying to climb them……」

The soldiers’ voices tremble as they cry out. Trained soldiers can easily climb over such walls, but that is on the condition the walls remain still.

These walls move. They also shout. They draw closer. If a soldier tries to leap over by grab a wall’s end, the walls will avoid his hand. If the soldiers try to give each other a boost over, the walls back away.

『『『He———i? Hei hei hei?』』』

Furthermore, they seem to be taunting, 『He—i. Soldier-san, you scared—? Hei hei!』while slowly surrounding them inside a box.

The soldiers do their best to push back against the walls. They are already no longer trying to climb over them. They don’t have the space to even try. The distance between them and the walls gradually tightens, and soon, neither Reines nor her soldiers can raise their arms or legs.

「……Silvia…… was right.」

I underestimated the [King of the Frontier]. I knew he possessed supernatural power, yet I still looked down on him. I dared think things like— ‘There are no soldiers under his command.’

I have 9 soldiers here. They are all highly skilled, having even defeated mamono before. Yet despite that, not a single one of them could climb these walls. We were surrounded, suppressed, and now it’s almost impossible to even move.

The princess and soldier are jumbled up and confined within cramped box.

The walls shook. Seeing that, Reines realizes the true meaning behind what Dims and his soldiers were saying.

As she looks back, the general’s flag from Reines’ helmet is revealed to be in her hand. The girl’s silver hair flutters in the wind as she makes an announcement with a graceful smile on her face.

「Follower of the [Aberrant Overlord], the Dragon General Lisette Ryuge has graciously received the general’s flag!!」
『Hei!』『Hei hei!』『He—i!』『Heii!!』

The walls unravel their enclosures while crying out in victory.

Reines looks up. Ahead is the other unit. They are trapped by walls, just like her, except in a triangle shaped box. Everyone is pale and trembling. She doesn’t condemn them for it, she understands how they feel.

「……Utter defeat…… I should have never messed with the frontier.」

Crestfallen, Reines Kittle’s shoulders droop and she mutters,

「The frontier will never be touched again. I will tell you everything I have done and apologize. Not even giving you all my belongings would be a problem…… therefore……please, I won’t be hostile against you…… so I beg you…… The frontier is scary, very, very, scary, scary……」

She and her soldiers, only able to hold their knees, tremble.
