Don’t Dote on Me! ~10 Days of an Onomatopoeic Noble Lady Translation

16: My Brain Stopped Working

So why are they following me?

“Just go home, already. It’s not like you can keep up with the subjects?”

“—It’s none of your business! Besides, I have a more pressing issue!”

“Even if you’re atransfer student, do you think you’ll receive special treatment if your grades fall?”

Just focus. Keep looking forward…

As I trudged on, the two bickered endlessly behind me as if trying to show off their intimacy.

Hence, it didn’t take long for us to arrive at Hielo’s place.

“Why, if it isn’t Lady Lumiere! I’m more than happy to support you—!”

I-I see, support… ‘support’, huh?

Look at you, all out of breath like that, what kind of support would you offer?

While it was tempting to reply sarcastically, I had to endure it for I was a noble lady…

When I greeted him with, ‘Kyururun.’ Hielo rushed over with a gleeful smile akin to a loyal dog who’d spotted his owner.

“A while ago, you were gazing at me from the window, weren’t you? How was it? Am I worthy of the title of your personal escort?”

Aren’t you His Highness Redmond’s personal aide?

While it was tempting to retort, it’d be difficult with just onomatopoeia.

Thus, I smiled at him instead, and Hielo bashfully looked away.

“…About what happened this afternoon, I thought about it and realized that little performance you did was for my sake.”

Then, Hielo proceeded to take my hands.

“Thank you, Lady Lumiere! As I thought, you’re the only one for me…”

Hielo was blushing.

Well, it’s true that it was a performance, but I don’t want to have this kind of conversation in public.

With a smile, I pulled his hand and led him to a secluded area, but Hielo soon misunderstood me.

“I didn’t expect Lady Lumiere to be this aggressive…”

Wait, what?

Before I could say, ‘Koten?’ To ask what he meant by that—

—When I turned around, Hielo had trapped me against the wall.

This, isn’t this kind of similar to how Silver approached Ms. Irene the other day?

Just like that, Hielo lifted my chin and gradually inched closer… His narrowed eyes. His spilled breath—

Gross!

“—No!”

I raised my leg—

—it was a technique that Silver had once taught me.

between the, yes! Between the legs!

“—Yeouch!

I ruthlessly swung my leg upward, and my knee landed squarely on his groin. After that, I punched him, and Hielo—who was much taller than me—fell on his butt.

Hawaa…

Ok, that one wasn’t from me.

However, when I looked down at Hielo, he was ecstatically staring at me for some reason…

“…I see, so I was right. You are into THAT kind of thing. If so, I won’t hold back…”

—Nooo!

Over the last few days, there was something that I’d noticed—

Yandere are actually quite positive, aren’t they?

Even though the entirety of my being suggested that I was repulsed by him, he still thought that I was into him. The misinterpretation was just too extreme. How could he be that optimistic? As expected, limiting myself to one yandere per week was a good idea.

When I was stunned, Silver approached me from behind. Apparently, he had followed me with Irene. As he stood next to me, he solemnly bowed to Hielo.

“It may sound presumptuous, but Milady is simply angry at you.”

“Lady Lumiere, are you angry with me?”

I mean, just now, I kicked and even punched you…

Even so, Hielo still misunderstood. In a hurry, he stood up and tried to take my hand.

“I’m sorry—! If you have any complaints, do say so—”

“Aren’t you apologizing to the wrong person?”

Before Silver could say anything—

—Behind Hielo, Irene, who was twirling her hair, puffed her cheeks.

“That’s right~ I saw it, too. Didn’t you push Constanze-chan away during lunch? No matter what the reason is, an experienced fighter shouldn’t lay his hand on a woman?”

“B-but, she insulted Lady Lumiere first—”

“—The ‘S’ in Do-S is for ‘service’!”

Irene ruthlessly slapped Hielo.

Before I could even cringe at the dull sound, Irene had already left.

“Remember this, you ****—”

—I couldn’t quite catch what she said when she was about to leave, though.

Silver slumped his shoulders, while Hielo paled.

He turned to me “Do you think so, too?” And I responded, “Kokkuri.” While nodding.

He hung his head in disappointment.

“I’ll make a formal apology to Constanze… And, if she still hates it, I’ll ask for an annulment.”

His back grew smaller in the distance as I saw him off.

When I involuntarily turned to look at Silver, he smiled at me.

“Let me guess, Milady, you didn’t quite understand what Irene said, did you?”

“…Uh-huh.”

“Until I personally teach you myself, please stay as an innocent young lady forever.”

It went without saying that I couldn’t understand the meaning behind his smile.
