238: (Avril)
The conversation had returned to its original topic.
Avril frantically snatched the books from the table. Even though everything had been revealed, she wanted to hide them if she could. Then, her face dropped.
“Lady Alexandra said that if things continued like this, you might lose interest in me… Well, not that you actually would, but that I should still learn a bit more. She lent me several books.”
“So that’s what it was.”
“Yes. They were lovely… romance novels.”
“You’ve already read them?”
“Yes, well…”
She nodded, subtly averting her gaze. In truth, these weren’t just romance novels. As they were known as introductory books to bedroom education, they appropriately included those kinds of scenes as well.
There was nothing particularly embarrassing about them, but as she only knew a vague outline of the details, she didn’t know how she should react.
Moreover, according to Alexandra, these were introduction for the beginning of the beginner level
There are levels for beginner and advanced?! It’s a long road. I have to work hard, but… do I even need to work hard in the first place???
The fact that she couldn’t really imagine what came after the beginner level was also one reason why she didn’t know what kind of expression to make. As Avril tightly clutched the books in her arms and acted suspiciously, an amused smile slipped onto Dlyan’s face.
“Then, are things like this okay too?”
“…Eh?”
Suddenly, Dylan’s face drew closer and their lips met. She was a bit surprised, but kissing was a daily event. Everything was fine, there was no need to panic. Then just as Avril expected, the kiss lasted a brief moment.
However, after separating, Dylan affectionately stroked her cheek.
“Continuing what I said earlier. Avril doesn’t belong to Miss Alexandra. You are mine alone.”
And then the kissing began again. She had no intention of resisting from the start, but because of the books she was holding in her arms, she couldn’t reject him. The heat Dylan gave her made her feel as though her entire body might melt away.
“Lord Dylan…!”
She couldn’t finish speaking. The books in her arms also disappeared somewhere.
She needed a few seconds to realize that Dylan had loosened her arms and placed them on the table while kissing her. During that time, he kissed around the nape of her neck.
His thread-like silver hair tickled her nose. Alexandra’s voice echoed inside her head, The activities of husband and wife don’t necessarily have to be at night.
Is the introductory chapter of the romance novel I read earlier about to begin? Avril raised a pitiful voice toward her husband upon having the realization.
“P-please wait.”
“…”
Dylan, unexpectedly, didn’t reply.
My-my mental preparations…!
Avril was helpless, she had never imagined Dylan would act so forcefully. She could only open and close her mouth in blank astonishment. She wanted someone to save her. No, I don’t need rescuing, but my mental preparations…
“Myaa.”
The moment Avril’s thoughts reached their absolute limit, Blue’s cry rang out.
Before the dumbfounded pair, Blue jumped onto the sofa with a sweet cry, toddled along, and wedged himself between them. There he blissfully curled up.
The cat had apparently decided to take a nap there.
Thinking about it, the sun is still high and the curtains are open. A pleasant light was streaming through the window and the sofa was perfect for basking in the sun. But above all, Blue’s beloved Dylan was there.
The sight of his sleeping form, with his fluffy body rising and lowering with gentle breathing, didn’t fail to look delighted at having found a good place.
Avril almost found herself saying, “How wonderful for you, Blue,” before a wry laugh reached her ears.
“We were interrupted…”
Despite having slept together with Blue countless times, this was Dylan’s first time saying something like that.
His wry smile clearly read, “I’ve been defeated.” As Avril felt equally overwhelmed herself, she could only feel gratitude to Blue.
Regardless, Avril, now released from her tension, carefully lifted the kitten sleeping from her chest and gently lowered him onto the velvet seat.
Blue usually woke up upon being separated from Dylan, but he seemed okay today. Perhaps it’s because he is nearby? As she pondered this, Dylan knelt before the sofa and straightened the hem of Avril’s skirt.
She only realized it now, but he was enveloped in an overwhelming allure that just couldn’t be put into words. Being gazed upon by those blue eyes threatened to rekindle the heat that had just subsided.
When Avril’s eyes began to wander, Dylan chuckled softly.
“I want you to be prepared for when Samuel and Blue return to the marquise household.”
“!? Y-yes!”
Prepared?!
Her voice was shrill. Still, how many times had they had such conversations?
Dylan, perhaps sensing her thoughts, emphasized it once more.
“When that time comes, I truly won’t wait anymore.”
“…!?”
Avril’s breath almost stopped at the at those words Dylan would normally never say.
You didn’t wait for me just now either…
Despite that thought, Avril didn’t have the courage to protest.
