Extra 5.1 Discarding Angelica (Part 2)
“—but that’s just…! His face and status are all that matter to you…!”
A patio boasting a variation of tropical, seasonal, flowers…
Cranbellica sat at the round table in the gazebo, but couldn’t afford to admire the beautiful flowers.
“What you said is true. I’ve only ever immersed myself in fishing books, therefore, I only know his appearance and the fact that he’s this kingdom’s first prince…”
On the other side of the table, the girl whom was the target of Cranbellica’s anger only tilted her head.
Strawberry blonde locks rolls gracefully, in proportion to her big, cherry-brown eyes.
“Oh, I know his name, too! Prince Lemonado Furesh Scarse Flutaria—”
“—are you kidding me!?”
Cranbellica’s beloved person’s name was uttered heartlessly and without respect, as if his title didn’t matter.
Cranbellica was triggered with even more anger as she glanced at the girl sitting in front of her… the fourth princess of the neighboring kingdom, Raspberryna Macarolun Stroberyl.
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
“Huh… for some reason, Raspberryna resembles Sharina, like, a lot. Especially the Sharina before she met Riol-kun…”
Angelica murmured as she laid on the bed and flipped through the pages of the novel. What she had in hand was a book she used to love—‘Dokidoki! The Prince is a Bully! ~The Tomboy Noble Lady Cranbellica’s Bittersweet Love Story~’
A new rival appeared before Cranbellica and Lemonado, which was implied in the previous book, and was now being explored in the book she was currently reading.
Raspberryna, the fourth princess of the neighboring kingdom, Stroberyl, was invited by a high-ranking official of Flutaria who deemed Cranbellica an unworthy partner to stand alongside Lemonado.
Until now, there were many ladies who flocked to the position, status, and the appearance of Lemonado, but Raspberryna was somewhat different—quoting her;
“Matchmaking, is that kind of thing, right? I thought just knowing the name and the status of the person is aplenty, already, since it’s already expected for our statuses to match each other’s.”
Such were the words Raspberryna uttered to Cranbellica when Cranbellica ranted about how hard it was for Lemonado to be flocked by women who could only see the superficial side of him— and not, per say, himself.
However, marriage between nobles in the truest sense was indeed so— all that mattered was identity and appearance.
Identification was to determine whether or not they would be worthy, or at least balance with each other. Faces and names were to distinguish them from others. Things other than that were just beside the point, and considered irrelevant to political marriages unless were very valuable information.
In fact, Angelica recalled such a line from her best friend, Sharina, from when they were both young and talking about fated love—
“—my ideal marriage partner? I’d like a person with a unique, distinguishable, face, at least. It would be troublesome if I couldn’t tell my husband apart from his relatives at a family gathering…”
Some people might not believe this, but before Shari met with Riol, romance had never been in her mind.
“Hmm… rather than not interested, it would be more accurate to say that Shari just didn’t know what romance was…”
That was why, Raspberryna, who resembled her best friend’s former self, was quite a formidable rival.
No matter how much Lemonado displayed his favor towards Cranbellica and showered her with affection, Raspberryna wasn’t in the least affected.
She didn’t cry like most women, nor would she run away, or dabble in wrongdoing-borderline-crime just to eliminate Cranbellica from Lemonado’s side.
As a matter of fact, Raspberryna herself was quietly surrendering to the marriage that the two kingdoms were trying to advance.
Raspberryna was alright with a loveless marriage. If Prince Lemonado and Cranbellica claimed to love each other, then they could get married too since polygamy was common in the royal family.
“Then… what happened next, I forgot…”
When Angelica first read that novel, she was completely awestruck by Raspberryna’s utter indifference towards love and marriage.
Ambiguously recalling such things, Angelica turned to the next page.
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
“There’s only one fateful red string! Do you not know how painful it is to see someone you love marry someone else!?”
“In my kingdom, the royal family practices polygamy… in fact, my mother is a concubine, but none of us ever thought it was miserable…”
That discussion had happened too many times. A cold wind blew between the two as they faced each other in the gazebo within the courtyard.
It did not matter how much Cranbellica appealed to Raspberryna, for the other couldn’t understand the love between two people.
“You don’t even love Prince Lemonado—!! You can’t make him happy—!!”
“For he is a king, I shall do my best to respect and support him. On the other hand, I can just leave the role to love him as a man to you…”
“Are you stupid!?”
Cranbellica struck the table, and the tea inside both their cups, which were of the same color as Raspberryna’s eyes, shook.
“You—! You never truly loved anyone before, that’s why you can easily say that—!”
“I…”
Why Cranbellica was fuming, Raspberry couldn’t understand why—her tea-colored eyes told that.
After all, the princess who didn’t understand the matter of love surely didn’t know how bad it was to tear a pair of lovers apart.
“That’s right, I don’t really understand what you mean by loving someone. However, the reason I accepted this betrothal is because it’s convenient for me.”
Raspberryna didn’t have any ill intentions. She probably also wasn’t an evil person.
However, it was a different story altogether because it’s Prince Lemonado they were talking about.
“My three older sisters married each of the three Grand Dukes in my kingdom, so, I have to be married off to another kingdom to maintain the relationship between kingdoms. Despite so, my kingdom is small, and I’m the fourth princess, born from a concubine, as such, no one wanted me.”
Marrying only because it was convenient—from the start, it had never been about love.
“Quit joking around…”
“I am not joking—”
“I said quit joking around—!! Only for your own convenience, what do you take Prince Lemonado’s future for—!?”
Again, the tea swayed.
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
“Umm, Raspberryna certainly can’t read the mood, but I really can’t sympathize with Cranbellica anymore, considering that Lemonado is That.”
In the past, she was moved by each of Cranbellica’s dialogues, but now, as she carefully considered everyone’s circumstance in the story, she was no longer impressed.
Raspberryna sure was strong. Unlike those previous women who fell in love with Lemonado and harassed Cranbellica, Raspberryna had substance.
Not only that, Raspberryna never actually fell in love with the prince. She also had no intention of going on the offensive, therefore, she was basically untouchable as a rival.
On the other hand, the previous exchange between Raspberryna and Cranbellica she had just read quite resembled her own discussion with Sharina and her sister, Lumi, about the ideal romantic situation…
“If it’s me, I want an evil person to kidnap me, or a demon to attack me, so that the prince would appear on a white horse and save me~ then, we will return to the castle while riding the same horse together~”
“Eeeh~? Lumi, you’re being too unrealistic. There’s nothing better than bumping into him on the first day of school near the gate, then arguing. Afterwards, it turns out that we’re in the same class~!”
“Lumi, there’s no way a man could outrun a demon using a white horse, and Ange, if you bump into someone, first and foremost, you should be apologizing.”
It was a conversation carried inside a carriage on the way back from a romantic play.
Angelica could converse about the plot with Lumi, but until the end, Sharina just couldn’t grasp their excitement.
As such, Angelica was curious as to whether or not Sharina actually enjoyed the play.
Well, because her best friend was that kind of person, by that point, Angelica had already become accustomed to the fact that Sharina was more interested in discussing calculative steps to actually slay the demon rather than playing out fateful encounters with Prince Leonardo, which many ladies yearned for.
“Shari, as I thought, you’re not interested, right? Do you find it boring?”
“No, not really, I had my share of joy when I saw the two of you looking happy.”
Before, Angelica wondered why Shari was still willing to be her close friend even though she wasn’t the least bit interested in Angelica’s hobby.
Today, looking back at said conversation made Angelica realize that Sharina was just a really good girl.
***T/N: awwwww, this chapter really give a new perspective to Sharina… UGU I CAN MARRY YOU INSTEAD OF THOSE MEN RASPBERRYNA. SHARINA/ RASPBERRYNA BEST GIRL.
“I said quit joking around—!! Only for your own convenience, what do you take Prince Lemonado’s future for—!?”
YEAH, IT’S NOT LIKE HE HAS A KINGDOM TO RULE OR ANYTHING!!!
And I’m just sitting here, thinking… That mess of a riol-love-struck-rina was a fourth princess of a Kingdom? Did I skip something somewhere?…
Thats just the novel
Can one be sure though?
The novel that Angelica read i meant.
Yeah. Sharina is the earl’s daughter. But she did have sister.
In angelica’s novel, this character named raspberryna, who is super similar to sharina, but isnt sharina, is the fourth princess of the neighboring fictional stroberyl kingdom. Real sharina is countess.
Can one be certainly certain though? I feel as though there should be a upcoming extra chapter that reveals that her family used to be royalty but went kaput because her family is as gung ho about things they like as she is
Oh i see your point
I mean, as it is, her fam is already the king of their own world…
Wait come to think of it, we haven’t really explore Sharina’s family, huh? Also the fact that she has many unusual but capable servants?
“I said quit joking around—!! Only for your own convenience, what do you take Prince Lemonado’s future for—!?”
Well aren’t you the one joking around Cranbellica?????Raspberryna (an awful name, I think BTW) already said she is expected to marry to another kingdom for her country. Even if her country is small their citizens can still reach hundreds of thousands to a couple of millions in number, and Raspberryna marrying Lemonado (another awful name, in my opinion) would ensure a better life for them and Raspberryna. As she said, her sisters married the grand dukes in her country and no other country wants to marry her as such if Lemonado refuse marrying her, Raspberryna may be deemed useless by her homecountry and she will just be married to the person who can give her country the highest benefits with no regard to the groom age, appearance and personality (who knows the person she ends up with may be in to S and M play). Like a livestock she would be auctioned, so how can Raspberryna afford to joke around??? Cranbellica, on the other hand, is a daughter of a noble with low status and shouldn’t even qualify as a queen candidate but because Lemonado likes him she was considered. Her marriage with Lemonado is not a neccessity, it would not ensure her people’s livelihood and couldn’t even be considered as saving her from an oncoming miserable life, it is all out of personal interest which is insignificant when compared to the duties and responsibilities of a prince at this kind of time period. Before Cranbellica have gone into this relationship, she should have known what she should expect on having a prince as her lover and should be ready for it. In the end, even if Cranbellica becomes a queen, most likely, they would still push for Lemonado to take a concubine who has an adequate status and ability to aid him properly in ruling the country, and if they did then a dispute may spark and some nobles may even wish to dethrone Cranbellica and push that concubine to be queen. If so wouldn’t it be better to have a queen like Raspberryna who has an adequate status and abilities and doesn’t really view Cranbellica as a rival so she probably won’t try to harm her, rather than have Cranbellica as the queen then take a concubine who could really become a threat against her in the future. And its not like there is a law that requires the King to bed the queen so they can have an agreement that Raspberryna wouldn’t sleep with Lemonado and bear a child, and considering Raspberryna, the possibility of her agreeing is very high so why not try?? (Its not that I am supporting polygamy, but considering their timeline and their culture I’ll approve of it, for now)
THERE IS ONLY ONE FATED RED STRING GABE!!!!!!!!
Commander, that so called red string of fate is made by people, so like people it is flawed. And IF it is true, then how can you say that the person you married is the one where your red string of fate is tied with. What if you married someone, then you had kids believing the person you married is the one who your red string is tied with but in the end it turns out they weren’t?? Would you split up with them for such a thing??? Then what about your kids???? What about the time, money, and emotions you invested??? And what about the dreams you have made and the feelings you felt with that person, can one say it is nothing but an illusion because they weren’t the person whose red string of fate is tied with yours???? There are billions of people on Earth, and the probability of finding your fated one (if it is true) is probably smaller than a person’s chance of getting hit by a lightning, so how do you find you fated one or tell if the person beside you is your fated one??? In the end doesn’t it only come to the question of being willing to be with each other come what may.
Thank you for reading. This is ‘Love Views’ by Gabe. (*Bows)
Ahaha thanks for sharing
Hey wdyt of sharina after reading this chapter.
I did not expect that she was that kind of person before meeting Riol. I mean look at what kind of rational comments she made from Angelica’s ideal meeting with her so called fated one and then look at the moment she first met Riol and the reason she claims she likes him……it’s a 180° turn.
Ahhaa in her defense, she possesses the clydea eyes that can naturally select unasshole out of assholes. No wonder she fell so hard for riol swoon
Commander you might need a Clydea’s eye to negate the indiscriminate activation of your special skill cause at this point we can say that your skill is at the same level as Lelouch’s Geass when he accidentaly ordered Euphemia to massacre the Japanese people in the first season.
Commander I am getting more worried about Claire, she just accepted a stranger’s offer to come with them to another country and even accepted staying with them in a hotel and told them her back story. It seems the stranger was really Paft’s prince. And as it turns out there were only 2 men waiting in the room the other was a woman but looks androgynous and acts like a gentleman.
And I found a novel in NU that looks promising. The title is ‘Sadly the gears of fate are unhinged’. In the story there was a popular novel about the crown prince losing his memory in an accident and falls in love with the woman who saved her and proceeds to break off his engagement, so when MC learns that her fiance the crowned prince got into accident, lost his memory and brought the woman who helped him back in the royal capital, MC (and a ton of people) thought the same thing will happen to her but the twist will make you say ‘Sadly the gears of fate are unhinged’. The translations are iffy and hard to understand in the first few chapters but it gets better in the new updates. I still don’t have that much of an impression with the MC but I find the prince funny and is showing signs of not being an asshole at least to the MC.
I know. I read the update.
The prince insta blushed when she agree to come with them? Whoa thats fast dude.
And her being able to identify a female knight is something really admirable to them?
Gabe do you think forging an evidence to eliminate someone they think is threatening something that is natural and good for a leader to do? Or plain baby tyrant in the making?
Commander look at what I made (hope the link works)

I need permission to see it haha.
ON ANOTHER NOTE I FINISHED TRANSLATING TIARIZE FOR THIS MONTHHHH
HAHHHAHAAHHAHA
kogami is giving his love child an allowance.
Oh shit i started calling him their love child too
If I am the leader, I might forge evidence to implicate a person who I know is guilty but is good at evading conviction and hiding evidence and threatens the safety of the people I lead and if I know that person would not simply make a mistake and cause a slip-up that would lead to their downfall and arrest. But if I have enough grasp of the guilty person’s personality then I might just trap them into a situation that would force them to produce an evidence against them for me. But if they are innocent, I won’t bother doing this kind of things to them just because I feel threatened cause in the end I am the leader and I still got the power. So I can’t really say wheter framing someone is natural or outright tyrannical specially there are times when such actions are needed to protect the things you have to, even though someday you might have to face the repercussions of doing such acts.
NOOOO!!!!!! THIS IS THE ONLY AVAILABLE METHOD FOR ME TO SHOW THIS MASTERPIECE OF MINE TO COMMANDER!!!!!! I WAS PRETTY PROUD OF IT!!!!!!! WHY DO THIS TO ME GOOGLE DRIVE????!!!!!!! *sob

HAHAHA!!!! It seems my brain washing has worked and it successfully affected Commander….I gotta do this to more people so I can create a battalion of Akane x Kogami shippers. HAHAHAHA!!!!!
BTW, He really is their love child, no one can change my mind!!! HAHAHA!!!!!
Yeah… I always cringe at these stupid “true love conquers ALLLLLL!!!”, royalty plots. I feel remotely bad for the royalty who get married off to maintain/create alliances, but that’s life. In exchange for the glamor, prestige, money, power, etc. If you ignore everything for true love, well just tell me how that works out when the kingdom you turned down goes to war with yours.
Plus I’m sure the poor farmer with the “freedom” to marry whomever they love would rather have the security and financial stability of being royalty (especially in an age of no birth control, where the poor (and especially newborns) often die of sickness before anything else). Plus the prince is allowed a LOT of positives in return. Namely being able to practice polygamy and take multiple wives. Raspberryna isn’t even a rival to Cranbellica. She doesn’t love the lemon and has no plans to intrude on their romantic affairs (except maybe to make a few heirs like she’s at a desk job). The cranberry one is literally weighing a selfish need to monopolize over the safety and security of two kingdoms. This shouldn’t even be a conversation. She CHOSE to get involved with the prince after being warned against the many obstacles that come with it. And I’m 200% sure the prince isn’t troubled to have a second wife that would actually make a compotent queen/ruler (unlike the two of them). Really Cranberry (can’t be bothered with her name rn), should be grateful considering how little queen education she got (since she butted in on an royal relationship at the last minute).
… And I got way too into the novel within the novel that’s super not even real, still the point stands (and this trope happens way too much in real life… Fiction (how to make this not sound off?)). I wonder how that “they lived happily ever after” goes when the kingdom falls to ruin and all enemy nations invade. Also, this is why we don’t have absolute monarchies anymore (though political marriages still happen).
